cameraPeter is not yet old enough to throw a ball. He tries very hard but he just can’t manage it. He holds the ball behind his head and sometimes runs to me to give me the ball and sometimes he lets it go behind his head. Playing catch can be very amusing. But the other day he got it!! He threw the ball to me. And he was so cute doing it. I yelled for Colin to bring my phone to video it. True as bob, when Colin got there, Peter stopped doing it and began whining instead. I was so annoyed.

How do other moms get these great videos and pictures of their children when mine refuses to have that Kodak moment. Mine refuses to keep being cute so I can show him off to the world.  What do they say these days, if it isn’t on social media, it didn’t happen.

Except it did happen. It happened and I was there and I saw it and lived it. Peter and I shared that moment and nothing can take it away. I usually always have my phone on me so that I can capture these moments.  But when I am too busy trying to capture, I don’t leave any time to create. I was reminded that it’s more important to create these moments with our children than it is to capture them. It’s more important to share our lives with our children than with our Facebook friends. It’s more important to store memories in our hearts than on our hard drives.

This week, I aim to create those moments.
